Hands-Free Devices
OK, so now that we understand that using hands-free devices saves lives as well as reduces fines, lets talk about what options we have.
Corded Headsets

By far the cheapest method to stay within the law, corded headsets are usually an ear-bud piece you connect to your cellphone by cable. These are usually included for free with any new cellphone, if you lost it, you can pick up a brand new one at an affordable price of $5 - $10.
These thing take a while to setup on your ear, can be kinda hard while driving due to the wire running down your ear. On the up side, it uses wire connection so it won't have the occasional connection dropout, as Bluetooth unfortunately has.
It also doesn't need batteries like other head-pieces, so no need to charge it every day days. The last think I don't like about these is that every cellphone company has their own corded headpiece, and you can't use it on other devices. Each company has their own connector pin, so you can't get any universal headset, like you can with Bluetooth.
To close, we don't recommend this option. Who wants to get tangled in wires when you can go wireless?
Wireless Headsets

I'm sure you've seen many people wearing these, apparently talking to themselves. The most common option, these wireless Bluetooth ear-pieces go for $30-$70. Many different types and styles to choose from.
These tiny devices are very easy to use, usually having 1-2 easy buttons, so don't need to get confused with buttons and switches - very simple. The good thing about the Bluetooth devices, is that they can connect to any Bluetooth enabled cellphone, which is almost everything!
On the bad side, these work on battery power, so you will need to charge regularly. Still small price to pay for the convenience, and who are we kidding? It looks cool!
Great choice for those of us who are busy hussling around city and need to take calls throughout the day.
Car Kits
Car kits are the most expensive, and cannot be used as a headset. They stay in the car so they cannot get lost [only stolen!]. These are split up into a few types and will be detailed in a future article.
