Bluetooth Basics

I'll save you the techno-blab and keep this short & sweet.

Bluetooth is a short-range wireless method mainly used for transferring information from one device to another. Bluetooth provides a way to connect and exchange information between devices such as mobile phones, telephones, laptops, personal computers, printers, GPS receivers, digital cameras, and video game consoles over a secure short-range radio frequency.

Most new cellphones today come with Bluetooth out of the box. Mainly used to transfer data [ringtones and pictures] between two mobile cellphones.

Bluetooth is also used to connect your mobile phone to a Bluetooth enabled hands-free headset. This allows you to wear the ear piece and talk without painfully of holding your phone to your ear. Because this a wireless connection, you can keep your cellphone deep in your pocket or bag without the hassle and bassle of searching for it whenever a call comes in; simply press the "Accept Call" button on your ear-piece and start talking!

This allows you to multi-task freeing your hands for important things that require two hands - driving!
